Lt. Lance Shaw

Lt. Lance Shaw has been with the Grants Pass Rural/Metro Fire Department for about eight years and is now a full-time lieutenant. In that time, Lt. Shaw has taken it upon himself to get the department in shape.

 

This year, Lt. Shaw started a new firefighter health and safety program that has never been in place before. This includes a warm-up regimen for any type of training where crew members have a few extra minutes before they begin training exercises. He is also trying to implement a new eating regimen at all of the Grants Pass staffed fire stations so that firefighters can eat as healthy as possible.

 
Lt. Shaw is also planning to get a certain amount of time allocated to workout time during the day for firefighters in his department.
